In 2018, SPO began developing a solution that would become highly important for Brazilian industry: the SPO Maintenance System, an intelligent platform that connects management and operations in preventive and corrective maintenance processes.
The idea emerged from a partnership with an industrial maintenance service provider that operates in some of the largest industries in the country.
How can mandatory maintenance be ensured?
This was the challenge—meeting what is required by legal standards in a standardized, safe, and traceable way, especially in critical environments such as hospitals, petrochemical plants, and offshore oil platforms.
“Just as a person needs periodic medical check-ups, a machine also needs to be inspected. Otherwise, there is a risk of severe failures, accidents, and even disasters,” explains Odair Pianta, CEO of SPO.
The system was designed to operate on two complementary fronts:
- An administrative platform that centralizes maintenance management and indicators;
- An operational app for field technicians.
The app works even offline, allowing data to be recorded and reports to be sent later—an essential feature for industries in remote regions.
The solution incorporates analytical intelligence
When a parameter falls out of the expected range or information is incomplete, the system automatically alerts managers, enabling fast, data-driven decisions.
Before adopting SPO, the client had tried three alternatives: Excel spreadsheets, a generic ERP, and a sector-specific system. None were able to handle the complexity of the operation.
After a supplier evaluation process, SPO was chosen for its customization capabilities and technical precision.
Technical maturity to handle highly critical operations
The project began in Serra Gaúcha, serving about 15 major companies in the metal-mechanic cluster—manufacturers of buses, trucks, brakes, as well as hospitals—and quickly expanded nationwide, with active operations in São Paulo, Santa Catarina, the Manaus Free Trade Zone, and Brazilian ports.
The impact was so significant that the system became an innovation case at the largest steel company in the Americas and was also presented at specialized industrial maintenance conferences.
This experience solidified SPO as a reference in digital solutions for complex industrial environments, uniting technology, safety, and efficiency in a single platform.
